There’s just one more battle to go. Netflix released the trailer for the Stranger Things finale, and it promises the end of all this interdimensional drama — if the Hawkins gang can survive it, that is. But when will we actually get to settle in and watch the conclusion to the long-running sci-fi series?
It's been 84 years (five days) since Stranger Things Season 5 Volume 2 dropped, and Netflix finally revealed that the trailer for the show's very last episode is coming today: Tuesday, December 30. Here's Vecna himself, aka Jamie Campbell Bower, announcing as much:
The streaming sensation is ending nearly a decade after its 2016 debut, completing five seasons on Dec. 31st. The trailer gives the show’s massive audience a glimpse into the final battle, starting with Jim Hopper (David Harbour) telling Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) to fight back “one last time.”
The series finale is also set to drop in theaters. According to Tudum, the screenings will take place at over 500 locations in the U.S. and Canada. Series co-creator Matt Duffer revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that "initially," a special release of the finale wasn't "the plan at all."
