Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James paid a huge compliment to teammate Luka Dončić after they connected on a highlight-reel play during Friday's 128-121 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.

On Friday, it was, in fact, needed with the Lakers going to the wire against the Grizzlies. LeBron turned back the clock in the fourth quarter, scoring 10 points in the fourth with a pair of his four field goals coming in the closing two minutes. He also dished out three assists with two of those also coming in the final two minutes as well.

Just three days after turning 41 years of age, LeBron James had something of a throwback performance in the Lakers' win over the Grizzlies.

Tuesday is LeBron James ' birthday. He's 41. That's not so old for a person. But for a basketball player, even one as supremely talented and fit as LeBron, it's a pretty advanced age.

Doncic (34 points, half of them on free throws) and James (31) dominate the fourth quarter, and the Lakers use a late 12-2 run to outlast depleted Memphis, 128-121. Jake LaRavia adds 21 points.
